Dok and Martin start 2021 with a bang, and drop their first EP of the year on Paco Osuna's label Mindshake.
Riding high on a wave of success, the Spanish duo have recently featured on many leading imprints including Pig&Dan’s Elevate, Eats Everything’s EI8HT and UMEK’s 1605 in addition to many others of equal note.
One of the breakthrough techno artists of 2020, their high-velocity style has been popular with many leading DJ’s ranging from Maceo Plex to Richie Hawtin, and their tracks such as “Destroyer” on AnalyticTrail spent many weeks in the top 10 best sellers of leading stores including Beatport.
Determined not to lose momentum, this four-track release further solidifies Dok&Martin’s position as one of the most exciting artists that are set for big things in 2021.
“The Joker” opens the release with it’s quirky vocal samples fused with rippling textures from the lead synth’s arpeggiated melody. The dark and stripped back groove of “Take My Hand” leads to the uplifting pads and soulful vocals of the breakdown before stepping things up a gear when the break kicks back in. “Reflection” uses Detroit style synth stabs to dramatic effect before “State of Mine” closes out the release with a similar vibe.
The Joker EP is going to be released 15th Jan 2021.
