Melanie Ribbe, Riaz Dhanani - The Energy EP
Paco Osuna's record label, Mindshake presents a collaborative tech house EP by Melanie Ribbe and Riaz Dhanani.
Melanie Ribbe and Riaz Dhanani are both Mindshake regulars who are teaming up for the first time to drop this groove-laden release fuelled by funky basslines and flowing percussion.
Last time Melanie Ribbe featured on Mindshake she was collaborating with Paco Osuna, and this is the German artist's third EP and fourth time releasing via the imprint. She has also featured her upbeat style on other influential record labels such as Moon Harbour, Drumcode, Little Helpers and Saved Records.
Riaz Dhanani is working with Mindshake for the second time, and this collaboration with Melanie Ribbe is in the dynamic style, Riaz has featured on other respected imprints such as Circus Recordings, Sola, VIVa LIMITED and elrow Music.
First up is the EP's title track and "The Energy" has a rolling groove with an acid bassline and fast-paced percussion, plus some captivating vocals that fill the track with hands in the air energy. Next up, "The Heat" has the modulating tones of a rubbery bassline, which is layered underneath shuffling hi-hats and infectious vocals about disco in San Francisco.
