Wave Signal present Blake Andrew with the techno ep Quarry.This five-track EP opens with ‘Sinuous.’ A bouncy dancefloor track balancing deep and grounding sounds with highly energetic drum patterns to create a potent and functional techno anthem. Next is ‘Quarry,’ a hypnotic track taking notes from late ’90s dub techno layered with lively drums, creating an effective tool for the record bag. ‘Echelon’ follows with a broad, lush synth carrying the atmosphere while the artists’ signature drum programming and technical production create an alluring song that beckons the listener into motion. Following a similar style as the opening track, ‘Teeming’ adds another peak-hour dancefloor mover to the release, flowing between energetic classic drums and a pounding four-on-the-floor kick and bassline. The EP closes with ‘Transmission,’ a spacious, somewhat ominous, slow-rolling experimental track including, what sounds like, sonic communications from otherworldly entities.
