DJ Boris - Body Burning EP incl Project00 Rmx
Paco Osuna welcomes DJ Boris to his label Mindshake for a chunky house and jacking techno EP that also features a remix from Paco Osuna and Fer BR under their shared alias Project00.
DJ Boris is a Russian born artist who's based in the American capital city New York, and he's well-known for his upbeat style that ranges between chunky tech house and thumping techno.
His two original tracks on this EP lean more towards his house music side, but still incorporate techno elements with tough percussion and loop focused grooves in the style he has featured on other labels such as Eats Everything's Edible, Nic Fanciulli's Saved Records and Elrow Music.
Spain's Paco Osuna is a DJ icon who has worked with record labels ranging from Richie Hawtin's Minus to John Digweed's Bedrock. Project00 is an alias that Paco Osuna shares with Fer BR who's an eclectic artist also based in Spain, and has featured solo tracks on other labels such as Claude VonStroke's Dirtybrid and Adam Beyer's Truesoul.
“Body Burning” opens the release with the raw funk of a disco-tinged bassline that's combined with bumping percussion and filter swept vocals. Project00's remix of Body Burning adds extra intensity with its half bar resample to create a fast-flowing techno groove. “Keep Pushin” closes the release with its techy stabs and dark atmosphere combined with thrashing offbeat percussion.
