Carlo Lio - Acting Kinda Strange EP
Carlo Lio is an artist with an eclectic style who has released house on labels ranging from Hot Creations to Elrow Music, and techno on labels such as Second State, Intec and SCI+TEC.
Returning to Paco Osuna’s label Mindshake for his fourth EP, this release features three originals from Carlo Lio alongside a remix by Project00.
Project00 is the shared alias of Paco Osuna who has released on labels like Minus, with Fer BR, who has featured on labels ranging from Dirtybird to Truesoul.
Two or the originals lean towards Carlo Lio’s house side while “Bite The Hand” is undeniably techno, but all three have his trademark tough percussion and rolling groove.
“Acting Kinda Strange” opens the release with some bassline funk and infectious vocals layered over a thumping kick drum. Project00 remix Acting Kinda Strange with some powerful snare rolls and extra offbeat energy.
“Bite The Hand” has a dark atmosphere and percussion lead style with building tension, before “Operation Funk” brings the release to a close with jackin' rhythms and soulful vocal phrases.
